Other Game Appearances

Aside from the Final Fantasy games and the stand-alone chocobo games, the chocobo has made it's appearances in other games as well. Though I know that there are more out there, I distincly remember seeing chocobos, in one form or another, in two games that I have played: Legend of Mana and Kingdom Hearts.

Legend of Mana is a PlayStation game that's part of the Mana series. Through your travels, there are times that you could encounter the chocobo as monsters. Can't remember where since it's been a long time I've played the game. One thing I could remember though is that you could also raise a chocobo as your very own pet.

In Kingdom Hearts, you actually don't get to meet any chocobo in his bird form. Instead, they are in the form of a weapon and a gummi ship. The metal chocobo is one of the keyblades with high stats and also has one of the longest reach. But it still has some drawbacks. One of it is that decreases your MP by 1. And another is that it seldom deals critical blows. But if you just like your button smashing, then this keyblade would be good until you get a better one with a good reach. You could get the metal chocobo by defeating Cloud in the Coliseum. Aside from being a keyblade, chocobo also has a gummi ship blueprint. You could get this if you enter's Gippeto's house 30 times and then talk to Pinnochio. I was able to get the blueprint for it in my game but since I wasn't really into making gummi ships and just sticked to the default one, I never really built it.
